DigitalGlobe space images prove penguins are more populous: Space images from satellites operated by Colorado's DigitalGlobe Inc. have helped scientists perform what the Wall Street Journal calls a "happy feat": a doubling of their previous estimates of the number of emperor penguins roaming the icy wastes surrounding the south pole. The WSJ reported Saturday that images from Longmont-based DigitalGlobe's QuickBird and WorldView-2 satellites were used to determine that about 595,000 of the four-foot-tall tuxedoed birds inhabit the Antarctic coast -- well...
